About Us

Jessica Davis founded JL Design in 2005. She is a graduate of Watkins College of Art in Nashville Tennessee, and brings 18 years of Interior Design experience to the JL Design team.

“I knew I wanted to be involved in Design at a very young age, when I realized there were always new challenges to overcome. I have always been surrounded by the arts and I have always felt that my inner creativity would ultimately guide me in my career. I wanted to be a part of something that would allow me to work closely with people and enrich their lives through design. For me, Interior Design is defined by functional, unique, creativity tailored to each individual.”

With a degree in Interior Design, Jessica began consulting on Design projects in Middle Tennessee, and was soon being commissioned for jobs in New York, New Jersey, and Miami. JL Design’s reputation for innovative Interior Design solutions has made it a leader in its class.

“I feel so fortunate to be able to bring my devotion and energy to my clients every day, and forge relationships that I find so crucial when working in someones home or personal space. There will always be a need for functional, progressive Interior Design, and I am committed to the art form and the evolving industry as it meets the needs of today.”

Growing up in Nashville, Meagan has always been passionate aboutall things art and design and has loved seeing Nashville become the design hub it is today. Since a young age, she has had an art studio and is constantly redesigning her space. She was drawing floor plans and 3D persepctives before she even knew what those were!

Meagan wanted to major in Interior Design to use her creative side in real-world applications and help transform people’s lives through their spaces. She graduated from the University of Kentucky with a major in Interiors: Planning, Strategy, and Design. While in college, Meagan studied in unique places such as Beijing and Los Angeles, which helped enhance her understanding of design on multiple scales and in different contexts.

When she’s not preparing for her next client meeitng or in AutoCad, you can find Meagan on a hike, traveling or working on home projects with her husband.

Originally from Memphis, TN, Emily was raised by her parents, who constantly fostered her love for art and drawing. She always enjoyed helping her father with hands-on projects around the house, beginning with landscaping at age five. In high school, she realized that she wanted to follow in her parents’ footsteps and attend Mississippi State University, where she graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Interior Design.

Through her studies, she grew in her passion for residential design and knew that’s where she wanted to be in her career. She enjoys creating one-on-one connections and wants to help people express themselves and their personalities in their home. After school, she moved to Nashville with her husband for the city’s creativity and musical atmosphere. When she’s not working on renderings, you can find her at the nearest concert venue, new restaurants in the city, or at home drawing or painting.

Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Jordyn has always had an interest in art and design. As a child, her grandmother would only let her stay up late when sleeping over if she would watch HGTV with her. She explored this creativity throughout high school taking both interior design and photography courses.

Jordyn moved to Nashville to attend O’More College of Design at Belmont University, where she graduated with a BFA in Interior Design and Minor in Entrepreneurship in 2023. Through her experience in the design industry she grew to love learning about how psychology and individuality plays a role in the design of each space.

When she’s not at the studio, she’s most likely playing with her puppy or planning her next travel destination.

Debbie makes her home in Nashville Tennessee graduating Cum Laude from Belmont University receiving her Bachelor of Science degree.

With over 30 years in the Interior Design industry, she brings a wealth of project management experiences and solid enterprise operations practices.  Focusing on strong customer service, she conveys strategic direction and time management skills to every project.  Attention to detail blended with a positive attitude and excellent customer communications result in successful project completions.

In her spare time, Debbie enjoys playing tennis, gardening and spending time with her husband, family and friends.

Originally from California and a Nashville resident since 2007, Anna Whalen brings a wealth of experience to her role as Purchasing Manager at JL Design. With a background in managing non-profits, project management, and accounting, Anna has successfully navigated various roles, including overseeing retail stores and management positions. Her passion for interior design fuels her commitment to delivering outstanding projects and creating beautiful spaces.

Outside of work, Anna enjoys spending quality time with her children, indulging in family and friends’ gatherings, and pursuing her interests in sports, reading, long walks, wine, and travel.
